Hyperplastic Polyps
These small hyperplastic polyps are found in the corpus. The patient had tens of these forming a hyperplastic polyposis of the stomach. To the left a biopsy forceps i seen.

A Single Hyperplastic Polyp in the Antrum
9 out of 10 of all polyps found in the stomach are hyperplastic.

Hyperplastic Polyps in the Antrum
Polyps like these are not considered to be premalignant. However, a stomach with hyperplastic polyps goes with a greater risk of getting cancer elsewhere in the stomach, and hyperplastic polyposis should therefore be kept under endoscopic surveillance perhaps every 3 years.

A Bleeding Prepyloric Polyp
A hyperplastic polyp can cause an occult gastrointestinal bleeding.
