A Surgically Inverted Appendix.

A Surgically Inverted Appendix.

A surgically inverted appendix. Appendicectomies were sometimes done in this fashion. This lady in her middle age came to a colonoscopy because of diffuse stomach trouble and nausea, probably partly related to a chronic headache. Some thirty years ago a prophylactic appendicectomy had been performed during a gynecological operation. This is the finding in the caecum. Histology from the biopsies showed nonspecific colitis.
