Normal Findings in Endoscopy:
Appendix

High resolution image: Appendix aperture

The vermiform appendix is attached to the caecum, below the ileocecal junction. Here a normal opening of the appendix is seen from inside the caecum.

A normal appendix aperture. These pictures are taken with a Mavicup electronic camera through a video colonoscope.

Another appendix aperture. Seeing the opening of the appendix is an indication that the whole colon has been examined during colonoscopy. In the right picture, some faecal content in the appendix is seen.
